in PPNL:
"When I come to the end of many of these poems, I
find myself starting at the beginning, puzzling at how Gray got from point A to
point B. The poems don’t move syllogistically, but through the improvisation of a psychological process.
Sometimes they are diaristic, recounting events from the day. Sometimes they
are more structural, even procedural. Many of them are about knowing (and what
one doesn’t or can’t know, for lack of information)."
